What We Believe

Here at the Verona Presbyterian Church, we have come to believe and share the following message with our community:

  • Sin only leads to more brokenness. It causes more harm, not less.
  • God CAN be known and people DO change. Jesus is the way.
  • We were made to belong. There is a place for you in relationship with God and God's people.
  • Every person has a contribution to make in the Body of Christ.
  • Faith is hard work; but it is worth it.
  • What you allow inside of you matters. God's Holy Spirit wants to live in you.
  • Love and forgiveness are not weak, but strong.
They are God's prescription for our relationships.
  • Racial separation is wrong. The Church is a place where
    divisions get broken down.
  • The way to find yourself is to GIVE yourself.
  • Loving Jesus is a journey. It does not make you perfect; it does make you forgiven.

Jesus Christ is the bridge between us and God. He offers a new way of life made possible through his victory over sin and death on the cross and in his resurrection. The invitation is to lay aside our own pride and receive his life growing in us through the gift of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus there is purpose, peace, joy, and comfort. Following him is the greatest adventure a person can take!

Here at the Verona Presbyterian Church we love our community. God has placed us here to
love and serve our neighbors by sharing this message. Want to know more? Come and see!

What is a Presbyterian?

We are proud to be a part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), which is one branch of the Christian Church worldwide. The word “Presbyterian” comes from the Greek word for “elders,” and has to do with the way we govern ourselves. We use a group of elected lay leaders and pastors called Elders.
